NZ zoos join palm oil label fight

Four NZ zoos have backed a campaign calling for mandatory labelling of palm oil. Governments in Australasia have upcoming decisions regarding the clear labelling of products. While authorities say the decision would be made on health grounds (palm oil is high in saturated fat and associated with heart disease) the product has been more prominently linked to the destruction of rainforests in Indonesia and the loss of habitats for critically endangered species.
