Element 4 Teaching Technology
This element provides an insight on how to implement technology education in New Zealand classrooms. This element prepares student teachers to teach technology. Element 4 has three aspects:
Planning: outlines how programmes, units and lessons/activities can be planned in technology. This aspect supports student teachers to understand how to develop programmes, units and lessons/activities in technology that offer opportunity for authentic contexts and practice.
Assessment: describes assessment practices appropriate to technology education.This aspect helps student teachers understand assessment practices that enhance the learning process and outcomes.
Teaching Practice: to understand how to deliver effective technology education.This aspect helps student teachers recognise the importance of context specific knowledge and skills, offers opportunity to experience technology in action and understand good practice in technology.
